English at Hogwarts

I had the distinct pleasure of working with El Centro de Juventud y Cultura teaching English at El Monasterio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial...or HOGWARTS! 

 

It was the business--for my ESL buddies that would be 'awesome', 'chulo' o 'guay'.

Alcalá de Henares

Alcalá de Henares happened with Bryan via las cercanias --a 40 minute train ride from Atocha.  Alcalá matters for reasons limited to Don Quijote (Cervantes birthplace), hence the murals, statues and walking tours.  It's quite small and therefore better suited to an hour--rather than day-- trip.   Opinion?  Cute, best done during the spring or summer, when the fountains are running and the flowers are in bloom.  sidenote: tourists aren't generally expected in other months and you run the risk of the tourism office being closed.  *sad face*
